Letters of reference
We require two academic letters of reference. These should be written by two qualified persons, preferably faculty members familiar with your work. The letters should be emailed separately by the referents to phd-illcuva.nl or sent by post to:

Letter of motivation
In your letter of motivation you should elaborate on at least the following points:
- Your intended research topic (approximately 200 words)
- Your choice of research group (as indicated in this form under research)
- Your choice of supervisor
- Why you chose the ILLC for your research
Please include an up-to-date copy of your curriculum vitae.
Please provide a copy of your degree certificate for each completed degree that you listed under academic education. If you need to upload more than one degree certificate, please merge them into one PDF file.
Please provide a degree transcript (list of grades) for each degree that you listed under academic education. If you listed a degree that you have not finished yet, please provide an overview of your grades so far. If you need to upload more than one degree transcript, please merge them into one PDF file.
You are asked to provide a sample of your writing. This can for example be an (excerpt of) an article, essay or thesis chapter that you wrote.
TOEFL/TSE or IELTS results
If you are a non-native English speaker and if you have indicated that you have done one of these tests, please include your results.
